Rivers of the Eastern Shore Book Talk

September 17 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Join ShoreRivers and the Historical Society of Kent County for an immersive journey into the history of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and how Kent County’s rivers shape our way of life–then, now, and in the future.

Karen Footner, granddaughter of the author, and Dennis Forney, Publisher Emeritus of the Cape Gazette in Lewes, Delaware will provide an engaging presentation on the background of the author and his work, followed by readings and reflections, particularly focusing on the Kent County-related chapters: The Chester River, Chestertown, and The Sassafras and Bohemia Rivers. ShoreRivers’ Chester and Sassafras Riverkeepers Annie Richards and Zack Kelleher will join the discussion to provide insight into the current state and future of our waterways.

• Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served
• Copies of Rivers of the Eastern Shore are available for sale by The Bookplate at the event–or anytime in the shop in Chestertown.
