Bespoke Chocolate Opens With New Renovations

Things just got a whole lot sweeter in Downtown Chestertown! Bespoke Chocolate has officially opened the doors to its new, expanded location at 103 S. Cross Street, marking an exciting new chapter for the beloved local business.

The move and transformation were made possible in part by a Building Interior Improvement Grant from Main Street Chestertown. The grant helped fund critical interior infrastructure updates—including framing, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work—laying the foundation for owner Kurt Douglass to turn the space into a true community gathering place.

While Bespoke Chocolate continues to offer the handcrafted artisan chocolates, truffles, and fresh fudge that customers have loved for years, this move allows the business to expand its in-house production and offer entirely new experiences.

“Bespoke is growing into something more than a chocolate shop—it’s becoming a place where handcrafted chocolate, community, and creativity come together,” says Douglass. “At Bespoke, every chocolate, every beverage, and every experience is crafted with one purpose in mind: Chocolate is Joy.”

What Visitors Can Expect

The new location offers several exciting additions designed to bring people together:

The expansion of Bespoke Chocolate highlights the ongoing revitalization efforts led by Main Street Chestertown, which uses state-backed grant funding to invest directly in the interior and exterior of historic downtown properties.

“We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate the continuation and evolution of a business that has held such a special place in Downtown Chestertown for years,” said Dominique Ellis Falcon, Executive Director of Main Street Chestertown. “Main Street Chestertown was delighted to utilize our Building Interior Improvement Grants to help enhance and grow Kurt’s vision. By expanding the shop to invite our community in through new, creative ways Bespoke Chocolates will serve as a vibrant anchor that draws tourists and locals alike. This is precisely the kind of thoughtful business growth, economic development, and long-term sustainability that we aim to foster in everything we do.”
