The Sultana Education Foundation is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to fostering stewardship of the Chesapeake Bay through hands-on history and environmental science programs. Founded in 1997, the foundation serves thousands of K–12 students and teachers annually with outdoor, experiential learning centered on the region's ecology and heritage. It is best known for operating the Sultana—a replica of a 1768 British Royal Navy schooner used as a floating classroom—alongside public paddling expeditions, land-based programs, and hosting Chestertown's annual Downrigging Weekend maritime festival.
