Mapping Maryland: Exploring Place

Mapping Maryland: Exploring Place

Join Washington College’s Center for Environment & Society (CES) Geospatial Innovation Program (GIP) for a hands-on STEM exploration of maps and the places that matter to us.

Kids can assemble a 3D-printed puzzle map of Maryland, divided into counties, and create an “All About My Place” explosion map featuring drawings and representations of places that are meaningful to them.

Kids (ages 5-12)
Interested teens (ages 13-17) and adults (ages 18+) also welcome.

Part of the 2026 Maryland STEM Festival, taking place October 16–November 15
