Unearth a Story – Summer Reading Kickoff

Celebrate the start of the 2026 Summer Reading program with giant games, bubbles, and sidewalk chalk!

Sign up for the 2026 Color Our World Summer Reading Challenge to receive a summer reading t-shirt (available while supplies last) and get started with your summer reading adventure. While you're at the library, sign the Declaration of Reading, add a sentence to the Story Wall, pick up a library visit punch card, and more!

All ages from babies to adults are welcome.

There will be three all ages kickoff events, one at each KCPL location:

Chestertown Branch
Saturday, June 6 | 11am-1pm

Rock Hall Branch

North County Branch
